How do I insert downloaded clip art into my document

I have downloaded clip art from the internet into MY DOCUMENTS file. When I
try to insert the object into my document, I get a new box with CONVERT FILE.
But when I try to convert, I get "An Error Occurred". I am using Windows
XP, Office 2003.

- I go to insert, then go to picture then I choose the file.
